Dear faithful of the Catholic Church,
Faced with the challenges of the difficult times in which we live, in particular the unity of the Church and peace in the world, millions of Catholics, clerics and laity alike, rightly wish to pray that Heaven will send us a holy pope, a pious and zealous vicar of Christ, to lead the Church in fidelity to its two-thousand-year-old teachings. In a magnificent spontaneous surge of faith, we are seeing many different novenas and prayer initiatives coming from the heart of each and every one of us.
But is this all Heaven is waiting for to renew its intervention of 1903, when a saintly pope, Pius X, was elected against all odds in a similar period of turmoil? Let’s look at the circumstances.

Note that this conclave will start a few days after the 1stst Saturday in May, and will probably end just before May 13, the anniversary of the first Fatima apparition. This conclave also takes place in 2025, the centenary of the request by the 1ers Saturdays of Fatima.(1)
There’s no such thing as “chance”. After Sister Lucia’s death in 2005, Carlo Acutis saw the seeress of Fatima in a dream, telling him that “the practice of the 1stth Saturdays of the month could change the destiny of the world”, and in 2010 Benedict XVI recalled that Fatima’s prophetic mission was not over.
If we want to pray effectively for a holy pope and for peace, it’s essential to ask ourselves: what did Our Lady ask of us at Fatima? The Holy Mother of the Church promised triumph and peace on two conditions : the consecration of Russia to her Immaculate Heart by the Pope AND the practice of the 1st Saturday of the month throughout the Church. This second request, linked to the rosary, concerns us all, but is largely forgotten. It’s not just another prayer or devotion. It’s the act of obedience that Heaven expects to grant us peace, and of which Sister Lucia explained in 1957 that “God wants this means and no other. God wants this way and no other. ”
To have a holy pope, there is no alternative but to carry out this request from Heaven, and Our Lady emphasized it well: ” If we do what I’m going to tell you, we’ll have a holy pope. If we do what I’m about to tell youmany souls will be saved and we’ll have peace. Why does Heaven want an act of obedience? Because obedience, the indispensable complement to prayer, is the act of abandoning one’s own will in favor of God’s will. It is the act of humility and absolute love for God.
So the time has come for us all to unite for this conclave in obedience to the Blessed Virgin, beseeching Her by whatever means She wills to give us in return a holy pope :
- Next Saturday, May 3, let’s start making the 1stth Saturdays of the month of Fatima(1).
- Let us then recite our rosary every day until May 13, as we did for the Battle of Lepanto.
