The “Jubilee of the 1st Saturdays of Fatima” will continue on Saturday February1st at the Shrine of Maghdouché, in Lebanon, also known as Our Lady of Waiting. This is where the Blessed Virgin used to wait for Jesus when he preached in the region.
Mass will be celebrated by Monsignor Haddad, Archbishop of Saida and Deir El Kamar of the Greek Melkite Catholics. A nationwide mobilization is underway, and many buses have been chartered to come and perform for the first time on the1st Saturday of the month.
Monsignor Haddad plans to institute the 1st Saturdays of Fatima at the beginning of each month at the sanctuary. This is one of the first official acts of recognition by the Church. The Blessed Virgin having asked that the 1st Saturdays be practiced throughout the Church and made official by the Pope to obtain peace, this is an important first step that will be taken thanks to the Lebanese.
Maghdouché is in southern Lebanon, close to the combat zones. As the ceasefire is scheduled to last until January 27, let us pray to Our Lady for peace in Lebanon.
