Create a group 1st Saturday of the month

1- What is a group?1st Saturday of the month

It’s a local, autonomous group of lay people who meet every 1stst Saturday of the month in a church, chapel, community, etc., to carry out the Blessed Virgin’s request.

Although autonomous, the groups are united within the Alliance 1ers Saturdays of Fatima to better radiate the spirit of the Church. This unity is based on three elements: (1) they all do exactly what Our Lady asked of them, (2) every1st Saturday, they all meditate on the same mystery of the Rosary, (3) they all spread the word about the 1st Saturdays using the Alliance’s communication tools.

2- How to start a group easily

a) If possible, talk to one or two people close to you (family, friends, parishioners, etc.). To explain, use the Alliance website (especially the video and summary sheet).

b) Identify an existing Saturday mass nearby(see card 3).

c) Talk to the priest(see sheet 4) and set the times for the rosary and meditation (before or after mass) according to local constraints. (It’s important that the times follow each other, as it’s too restrictive to have to come back twice during the day).

d) Tell members to sign up at jubile2025-fatima.org to receive the monthly meditation.

e) Register your group on the map to enable nearby members to join you.

(process in preparation)

3- How to organize every1st Saturday

Before the 1stst Saturday (recommendations not mandatory)

Print out a meditation (you can use the one suggested by the Alliance).

To mark the day, plan to display a statue of the Blessed Virgin and bring her flowers.

To add a certain solemnity, try to include an organist and a few hymns to the Blessed Virgin.

Ask the priest if he can be present during the rosary and meditation to confess.

The 1stst Saturday

Meet at the agreed time in the selected Church to carry out Our Lady’s requests in their entirety.

Note 1: The meditation can be done in silence, or with the meditation text read out.

Note 2: Those who, for personal reasons, are unable to stay long on that day, are perfectly welcome to recite their rosary and do the meditation on their own, at another time of day.

Note 3: These 1st Saturdays can also be the occasion for a social moment to meet and exchange ideas on other possible actions. Some groups organize a breakfast afterwards.
