Summary of 1st Saturdays

1- About Fatima

On July 13, 1917, at Fatima, Our Lady announced that, in addition to the Rosary, she would come to ask for a future devotion for peace: “To prevent war I will come ask for the consecration of Russia to my Immaculate Heart and Communion of Reparation on First Saturdays”. She would return in two stages, appearing to Sister Lucy of Fatima on December 10, 1925 to establish the 1st Saturdays throughout the Church, and then on June 13, 1929 to ask for the Pope’s consecration of Russia.

While popes have already begun to follow Fatima’s request for the consecration of Russia, very few of the faithful practice the 1st Saturdays. A few days after Sister Lucia’s death in 2005, Carlos Acutis saw the seeress of Fatima in a dream, telling him that: “the practice of the five 1st Saturdays of the month could change the destiny of the world. “”

2025 is the 100th anniversary of 1st Saturdays, and it ‘s urgent to obey Notre Dame.

2- What did Our Lady ask for on the 1st Saturday of the month?

She made five specific requests to be carried out every1st Saturday of the month:

  1. Confession (on Saturday or in the weeks before)
  2. Communicate
  3. Recite a rosary.
  4. Keep him company for 15 minutes by meditating on a mystery from the Rosary.
  5. Do these four acts with the intention of making reparation for theoffences committed against her Immaculate Heart.

Finally, she promised a marvellous grace to those who make five 1st Saturdays in a row. Here are her exact words on December 10, 1925 to Sister Lucia: “All those who, for five months, on the first Saturday, go to confession, receive Holy Communion, recite the Rosary, and keep me company for fifteen minutes meditating on the fifteen mysteries of the Rosary, in a spirit of reparation, I promise to assist them at the hour of death with all the graces necessary for the salvation of their souls . assist them at the hour of death with all the graces necessary for the salvation of their souls.

3- Three charity goals on the 1st Saturday of the month

The practice of 1st Saturdays is therefore carried out for three charitable purposes, which have an order of priority:

  1. To make reparation for offenses against the Immaculate Heart of Mary(1) (charity towards God): This is the first goal, and logically ties in with the1st commandment: “You shall love your God”.
  2. Obtaining peace on earth (charity towards others): At Fatima, Our Lady promised peace on condition that we follow Her requests. And Sister Lucia reminded us that to obtain this peace: “God wants this way and not another. ”
  3. Obtaining Heaven (charity towards oneself): if we pray five 1st Saturdays in a row, Our Lady has promised to assist us in going to Heaven when we die. It’s a wonderful help she’s reserved for our time, when it’s so difficult to remain faithful to God.

Note 1 Christ explained why five Saturdays. “For there are five kinds of offenses: 1/ blasphemies against the Immaculate Conception, 2/ blasphemies against her virginity, 3/ blasphemies against her divine maternity, 4/ blasphemies by those who publicly seek to put indifference, contempt or hatred towards Mary into the hearts of children, and finally 5/ offenses by those who directly outrage her in her holy images”.
